Megan Thee Stallion’s Fitness Philosophy Is ‘Savage’—and So Is Her Workout Regimen

FitnessMegan Thee Stallion’s Fitness Philosophy Is ‘Savage’—and So Is Her Workout Regimen

Megan Thee Stallion recently opened up about her weekly fitness routine, and it’s nothing short of inspiring. In a feature for Women’s Health, published on Wednesday, April 10, the Grammy-winning rapper shed light on what her typical sweat sesh looks like and opened up about the mindset that keeps her pushing forward.

Despite her star status, the 29-year-old admits that dragging herself out of bed in the morning for a workout is a struggle—just like it is for many of us. “I have to get mentally prepared,” she tells the magazine. “I’m like, ‘I can stay here for another hour, or I can get up and go work out and be a bad bitch. If I want to be a stallion and not a pony, I got to get up and put in the work.’”

According to the outlet, the “Savage” hitmaker commits to an intense workout up to four to five times a week. Her go-to workouts include either toning sessions on the reformer at a Pilates classgoing to the gym, or exercising at the beach with her fitness trainers, Emory “Joc” Bernard and Tim Boutte.

“I’m in a space where I feel good mentally, so I want to look as good as I feel,” Thee Stallion continued. She prioritizes having “strong legs,” and looking “like you can jump high,” she says. “I love that look.”

Below, learn more about what the Nike ambassador’s fitness routine entails.

Cardio

When it comes to cardio, Women’s Health reports that the performer mixes it up by either running up sand hills or spending 40 minutes on equipment like the StairMaster or the elliptical machine.

Legs

For leg days, her favorite exercises include hip thrusts, goblet squats, and leg extensions. Another go to? Donkey kicks. She’s even coined a clever term for them, calling them “stallion kicks.” She tells the outlet that she likes to do them with resistance bands. The results speak for themselves, per Thee Stallion, who says “my thighs look good as f*ck.”

Core + Back

Last but not least, to work her core, she sticks to the basics with weighted sit-ups, while focusing on strengthening her back with exercises such as lat pulldowns, lat flies and renegade rows.

Wellness

The “Savage” singer’s wellness routine centers around making healthy food and beverage choices. “I am still a Southern girl, so I like to eat what I want,” Thee Stallion says of her dietary choices. “I just don’t go overboard.” Some of her favorite nutritious meals include “a strawberry, banana, almond milk, and protein powder smoothie or a green juice in the morning before she works out, eating pan-seared salmon for lunch, and having sea bass or cod for dinner along with tomatoes, sweet potatoes, kale, or brown rice,” the outlet reports, adding that “she snacks on cucumber slices with salt and pepper, and cherry tomatoes with light balsamic vinaigrette.”

As for water, she aims to drink a gallon of water per day, but assures Women’s Health that she still indulges in tequila every once in a while. After all, it’s all about balance.
